Did you know?

that a place like Westwood Village (the 15 block commercial area adjacent to UCLA) creates approximately 912,500 vehicle miles traveled per year just in cars cruising for parking spaces? That is equivalent to 36 trips around the earth. Raising the on-street meters approx. $0.50 per hour would lower that distance to close to 0.

Just think of how much that would cut the demand for gasoline....

sometimes I wish I were a traffic engineer...
